Rating: - This book is amazing!
Before I got this cook book I hated tofu. Today I made the Crispy Tofu Fingers on page 315 and I can't stop eating them! Don't let the title fool you this book is great for vegans! I also made the Flaxjacks recipe for breakfast and it turned out really well! This book really is great I have many cook books but this is by far my favorite when it comes to recipes that my two year old will eat! It's a very creative cookbook and I LOVE IT! Also not only is it a great cookbook but it also has a lot of ... Read More
Rating: - Not just for parents of veg kids.
I am not a parent, and I am not raising children, let alone vegetarian or vegan children. But I am a vegan. And I have 5 nieces and nephews, all under the age of 5 who are open, curious, love animals dearly, and foster an innocent and inherent sense of compassion and empathy. They are all being raised to love the dog and cat, to sing old mcdonald had a farm, and to consume meat and dairy daily. When the oldest nephew was at a farm with me, visiting with the animals he asked me what a one of the animals ... Read More
Rating: - Great resource
We are vegan and we're raising our kids vegan (until they decide to do differently). This was an invaluable resource to us as our oldest got to the age where she was attending parties and going to school and in situations where we had to prepare her to respond or plan for. It helped us to learn ways to navigate through the non-vegan world with grace and respect for the non-vegans around us.
It was also our bible for any nutritional information that would help us feel confident that we were ... Read More
Rating: - Helping Children Life Healthier Lives.
This book has given me more confidence and knowledge to help the family transit to a vegetarian lifestyle.
Rating: - Somewhat disappointed
Imagine how disappointed I was to see a meal recipe that said to put a veggie burger on a bun......that's not really what I call cooking. Granted this isn't a cookbook, but even the ideas for explaining vegetarianism to your children were lacking in originality (tell them we don't eat animals). If I had skimmed through this in a bookstore prior to purchasing it online, I'd not have bought it.
