My favorite memories of baking are with my Aunt Ebbie. When I was barely old enough to sit on a bar stool, she would tell me to climb on up there and watch. Oftentimes, she would let me help her, but I most enjoyed just sitting on the stool, twirling from side to side on the bar stool, listening to her measure out the ingredients while she served me a ice cold bottle of Coca-Cola. When she finished baking, she would hand me a sample of whatever it was she had decided to "concoct" that day. And you know what? It was always delicious! That lady could bake like nobody's business and that is when I decided (sitting on that bar stool sipping my cold Coke on a summer's day), that if Ebbie could do it, I could certainly do it and my love for baking was born.
